Due to the multitude of languages of India, I am grouping them here and not really making distinctions between them.

advaita
Non-dualism. Hindu.
anitya
Buddhist impermanence. The bittersweet impermanence of things. Sanskrit.
agni
Fire.
Ambedkar, Bhimrao Ramji
1891/1956. Chief draftsman of the modern Indian constitution, the architect of India's affirmative action program, founder of the first Untouchables political party.
asura
A semi-god. A demi-god.
Brahmin
A wise, knowledgeable, and charitable person. See also shudra.
dalit
Oppressed.
deva
A deity. A god.
Gandhi, Mahatma
1869/1948. Activist who advocated nonviolence, peace, and unity in creating an independent Indian nation. He was assassinated on 1948-01-30, in New Delhi, India.
rtu
Righteousness, correctness, order. Hindu.
saspandana
G-spot. Hindu.
sat, chit, and ananda
Being, consciousness, and bliss. The triple consciousness. Points to transcendence. Hindu.
satya
Truth, correspondence to reality. Hindu.
shudra
A person living a life primarily by animal instincts. See also Brahmin.
Siddhartha Gautama
The Buddha. "he who is awake".
varna
One of five main caste groups that emerged from the primordial being. The Brahmans (priests and teachers) came from the mouth. The Kshatriyas (rulers and soldiers) came from the arms. The Vaisyas (merchants and traders) came from the thighs. The Sudras (laborers) came from the feet. The Achutas or Mahars (untouchables) did not come from the primordial being. The laws of the Hindu caste system were compiled ca. 0 CE by Brahman priests. Hindu.
yagna
A spiritual exercise which involves the burning/sacrificing of herbs and chanting.
yoga
"union with God".
