Aka Bismillah. An Arabic noun for the a phrase that recurs in the Qur'an: Bismi-llāhi ar-Raḥmāni ar-Raḥīmi = "In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful". Each of the 114 surah = "chapters" starts with the Basmala (except for the 9th) and is not counted as an ayat = "verse" (except for 27:30).
