I use GenealogyJ [genj.sourceforge.net] genealogy software. It's free (gratis and libre) and runs as a Java executable. It has a lot of great features (like using the GEDCOM [W] standard) and has nice support. As of 2006-07-27, I have 3,323 individuals in my file. Over 3000 of that is from my wife's side of the family. I'm almost dreading entering the vast number of relatives on my side of the family, especially since the Eco clan on my father's side is notorious. I've heard that they print out walls worth of family trees.
