Passwords

For high security areas:

• It should be at least 5 characters long. Some systems may require 8 character or more. The longer is better. If you make it 15+ characters long, you hardly need anything else.
• It should be fairly random.
• Change it frequently. EG: Change it monthly and then make a password of some major event that month. EG: "christmasRocks" in December.
• Utilize a mix of upper and lower case letters. EG: "SamIAm".
• Try tossing in a number or two. EG: "winter1".
• Try using non-alphanumeric characters. EG: "tarzan&jane".
• Try the first letter of a personal phrase. EG: "iwadasn" (It was a dark and stormy night).
• Substitute numbers or symbols for common word. EG: "DoIt4Money".
• Don't use your name, dates, or phone numbers. EG: "1022".
• Don't write it down.
• Don't share your password.
• Use different passwords for different things.
• Make sure you can still remember it.

For low security areas choose fast and easy to remember passwords. EGs:

• "" (Entering nothing is very fast but also almost too easy and it's often disabled).
• "password" (Entering a password of password is again almost too easy and often disabled.)
• A birth date. EG: "1022".
• An e-mail address.
• "3" (So you can very quickly hit 3 and then ENTER on the numeric keypad).
• Use something that is related to the access point.
• Use the same password or password algorithm for your low security areas.

For fast passwords try combinations that can be done with one hand. EG: "regrets". Here are some words that can be done with one hand.
