We need lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of happy happy happy happy happy customers.
-Steve Balmer
There are three things I need to express before I continue:
- Once upon a time I was a Mac aficionado. Proof: I loved my Mac Classic, with its Motorola 68x processor and black-and-white 9-inch screen in one portable unit.
- I am not a Microsoft employee. This site is not owned by, endorsed by, or affiliated in any way with Microsoft.
- In spite of my Mac-ness, I found myself immersed in all things Microsoft once I started developing.
Q: What does this mean? A: I have been transformed into cynical Micro-head.
- I am constantly wary of being sold by MS propaganda... but I use MS everyday.
- I ooh and ah at every Apple development... but I use MS everyday.
- I glow as Linux advances... but I use MS everyday.
- I am tickled by the whole DOJ v MS... but I use MS everyday.
- I hope Sun take its vitamins... but I use MS everyday.
- I mock every MS "feature" (aka bug)... but I use MS everyday.
But—confound it!—I use Microsoft everyday!
Grumblingly I admit that they have a lot of knowledge and resources freely available at the Microsoft website [microsoft.com], especially at the MSDN Online [msdn.microsoft.com] (for more advanced topics), Microsoft Technet [microsoft.com/technet/] (for less advanced topics), and MSN Computing Central [computingcentral.msn.com/] (for friendly cross platform topics).
